Anna Virovlansky
Anna Virovlansky was born in St. Petersburg and emigrated with her family to Israel in 1990. In Jerusalem, she studied singing at the Rubin Academy with Agness Massini.
She worked from 2004 on at the Bonn Opera, appearing in such roles as Sophie (»Der Rosenkavalier«), Marzelline (»Fidelio«) and Pamina (»Die Zauberflöte«). She has attracted great attention as a prize-winner in many competitions, and has also had engagements in Bonn and Basel.
In summer 2010, she made her début as Zerlina (»Don Giovanni«) at the Glyndebourne-Festival. A DVD of this production was issued by EMI Classics. Shortly afterwards, she made her first guest appearance at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Musetta (»La bohème«) and sang Giulietta in concert performances of Bellini's »I Capuleti e i Montecchi« at the Aalto Theatre in Essen. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, she has sung such roles as Musetta, Gilda (»Rigoletto«), Pamina, Argie (»Les Paladins«) and the title role in »Manon«.
In 2011–2013, Anna Virovlansky was a permanent ensemble member at the Bayerische Staatsoper, singing such parts as Sophie (»Der Rosenkavalier«), Pamina, Adele (»Die Fledermaus«) and Marzelline. In 2012, she made her début as Giulietta (»Les contes d’Hoffmann«) at the Munich Opera Festival.
Since then Anna Virovlansky appeared as Euridice (»Orfeo«) and Musetta at the Bayerische Staatsoper, as Norina (»Don Pasquale«) and Violetta (»La traviata«) at the Leipzig Opera, as Violetta in Düsseldorf, as Norina in Heilbronn and as Marzelline at the festival Maggio Musicale Fiorentino working together with Zubin Mehta.
