Anja Lichtenegger

Anja Lichtenegger, born in 1985 in Graz, passed her university qualification examination at the HTL-Ortweinschule Graz für Kunst und Design before completing her degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg 2010. Whilst she was still a student, she designed the sets and costumes for ballet productions at the Landestheater Salzburg (choreographer: Peter Breuer) and for the Schauspiel Mozarteum Theater im Central (director: Peter Kleinert) and made guest appearances with their productions in Berlin and Zurich. In addition to creating sets for short films and shop window displays, Anja Lichtenegger also worked in the advertising department of Hypo Steiermark.

From 2010 until 2013, she was Assistant Set Designer at Dortmund Opera and designed sets for a number of children's and young people's productions during this time. In 2014, she created the sets for the 18th Dortmund Opera Ball »Pariser Leben« (director: Jens-Daniel Herzog) at Dortmund Opera. She then worked as a freelance assistant set designer at the Theater an der Wien (»A Harold’s Progress«) and Graz Opera (»Maria Stuarda«).

In November 2014, Anja Lichtenegger designed the sets for the stage drama »Lola Blau« (director: Isabel Stahl) in the Dortmund U, followed in February 2015 by the sets for the Musical »Crazy For You« (director: Erik Petersen) at Magdeburg Opera. She then created the sets for the two children's operas »GOLD!« and »Der kleine Schornsteinfeger« for the Gärtnerplatztheater in the 2015 / 2016 season.
