Andrea Jörg
Andrea Jörg was born in Kempten (Allgäu). At the age of 10 she sang her first leading role in the musical »Ludwig II ‒ Sehnsucht nach dem Paradies« in Füssen. Later she studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, graduating with the highest marks for the year. She attended master classes with Ingeborg Hallstein, Michael Volle, Juliane Banse, Dorothee Mields, Angelika Kirchschlager, Linda Watson and Daniela Fally, among others. Andrea Jörg is a multiple prize-winner and scholarship holder, among others of the Music Promotion Prize of the District of Swabia, the Tyrolean Classical Singer Prize of the Eva Lind Academy, the Grand Cultural Prize of the Rupert Gabler Foundation in Obergünzburg, winner of the Armin Knab Competition of the University of Music in Würzburg, winner of the Heinrich Strecker Singing Competition ‒ Crossover Competition in Baden near Vienna as well as scholarship holder of the Deutschlandstipendium, the Hans and Eugenia Jütting Foundation in Stendal and the Wagner Association Würzburg. The versatile soprano is active throughout Europe as a concert and lieder singer, her repertoire ranging from baroque to popular music. Her career highlights include concerts with Eva Lind in Monaco, Bayreuth and Salzburg, with Sarah Brightman at the Vienna Hofburg, with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra and song recitals with Gerold Huber, among others.
Guest engagements have taken the young singer to the Festspielhaus Füssen as Sissi and Sybille Meilhaus (»Ludwig²«), to the Freie Landestheater Bayern as Adele (»Die Fledermaus«), to the Pasinger Fabrik in Munich as Marie/Stella (»Frau Luna«) and Blonde (»Die Entführung aus dem Serail«), to the Kammeroper Frankfurt as Nedda (»Pagliacci«), to the Staatstheater Nuremberg, to the Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, to the Theater Chemnitz, to the Frankenfestspiele in Frankfurt and to the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Theatre Chemnitz, at the Frankenfestspiele Röttingen and at the Haldenstein Castle Opera in Chur, Switzerland. She is also part of the programme »Ich und der Russe« with the cabaret artist Christian Springer. She made her debut at the Gärtnerplatztheater in 2016 as Mrs. Nordstrom in »A Little Night Music«.
