András Borbély T.

András Borbély T. was born in Budapest, where he studied Theology from 1998 to 2001 and Acting from 2001 to 2004 at the Theater Academy of the Hungarian National Theater. Guest performances followed at various theaters in Hungary and during tours across Europe. Additionally, he worked as an editor, announcer and moderator at the Hungarian Catholic Radio and at the Hungarian National Radio and also acted as a speaker for various audio dramas and CD recordings. He began his studies in Musicology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in 2012. During his university years, he worked with mentally handicapped individuals at several different institutions. His life with people with autism and Down syndrome was also the topic of his first book, published in Hungary in 2018. Further books of his were published there, dealing with topics related to Musicology. From 2015 to 2017 he completed two master's programs simultaneously, one in Musicology at the LMU and another in Dramaturgy at the August Everding Theater Academy, where he oversaw the European premiere of the musical "Big Fish" as a production dramaturg. Since the completion of his two master's degrees, András Borbély T. has been working on his PhD at the Musicological Institute of the LMU, focusing on the literary operas of Manfred Gurlitt. He has been a member of staff of the Dramaturgy Department, as well as a manager of surtitles at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz since the 2018/2019 season, where he also conducts tours through the theater.
