Amber Schoop

Born in the Netherlands with Caribbean roots, she finished her education with honours in dance, drama and singing and filming at the THOPSS Theatre School in Amsterdam. After graduation she toured throughout Holland with her first solo show »How to Read a Person Like a Book«, worked as a singer and a presenter at the Royal Theatre in Amsterdam as well as at the »North Sea Jazz Festival« and founded the gospel group »Heavenly Harmony«. Her international career began with the main role in »A Good Man« at the Vienna Kammeroper, in »Hair« in Ingolstadt and »The King of Love« in Berlin’s Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church. Parts in musicals like »Non(n)sense« and »Blues Brothers« are likewise in her repertory. In the Cologne’s Musical Dome she played the Killer Queen in »We Will Rock You«, and as the beauty from the ship in the German premiere of Monty Python’s »Spamalot« and as Motormouth Maybelle in »Hairspray«. In her adopted home in Berlin she has been a singer soloist at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in the productions »Show Me« and »Berlin Illuminated« and Oda Mae Brown in »Ghost« at the Theater des Westens.  In addition, Amber Schoop regularly appears with the Big-Band of the German Opera of Berlin and presents her one-woman-show »Where the Heart Beats«. In 2016 she staged the jubilee programme of the British music and comedy duo »Carrington Brown« and is the author of an operetta for two for the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival. Most recently she performed again at the Friedrichstadt-Palast as a walk-in cover in the Grand Show »Vivid«.
