Alin Stoica
The tenor Alin Stoica was born in Bucharest and studied singing at the Conservatoire in his home city. He attended master classes with Rockwell Blake and Mariana Nicolescu and was awarded prizes in competitions such as the »Grand Prix« in the »Paul Constantinescu Competition« and the »Romanian Broadcasting Association Special Prize« in the »International Competition Grand Prix de l’Opéra 2014«. In addition, in the 2017 »Sarzana Singing Competition«, he won not only the 2nd prize but also the Audience Prize and an invitation to sing at a concert in memory of Luciano Pavarotti in the Arena di Verona alongside Plácido Domingo, José Carreras and Angela Gheorghiu. He has appeared at the Bucharest National Opera in many of the great tenor roles, including Alfredo (»La traviata«), Rodolfo (»La bohème«) and Don José (»Carmen«). He made his debut in Germany as Don José in 2016 at the Gut Immling Opera Festival. In addition, he was the understudy for Pavel Cernoch in the title role of Franco Faccio's »Amleto« at the Bregenz Festival, made his debut in Italy as Turiddu (»Cavalleria rusticana«) at the Teatro Comunale Pergolesi in Jesi and sang Riccardo (»Un ballo in maschera«) at the Teatro Regio di Parma. Alin Stoica is also a highly sought-after recitalist in his homeland. He is making his Munich debut as Mario Cavaradossi (»Tosca«) at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
