Alexander Moitzi
Born in Upper Austria, Alexander Moitzi completed his training at the Performing Arts Studios Vienna and the William Esper Studio in New York. During his studies in Vienna, he performed in »Evita« at the Steyr Music Festival, as Florian in »Finix« at the Raimund Theatre, Vienna, which was followed by a tour of Europe, in the »Joey Racino Show« in roles such as Zac, in »Night & Day« at Vienna's Theater Akzent, and in the summer productions of »West Side Story« at the Stralsund Baltic Festival, »Il trovatore« at the Bregenz Festival and »C’est la vie« at the Stockerau Festival; he also performed frequently as a singer and dancer, at the opening of Halle F at the Stadthalle in Vienna, for example, and with the pop star Anastacia at the Vienna Life Ball. In addition, he also appeared in the Azerbaijani operetta »Samt und Seide« at the Kammeroper in Vienna, in the Christmas show »Musical Christmas in Vienna« staged by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien in the Raimund Theatre, Vienna, and as a soloist in the musical review »The Next Generation« in Vienna's Theater des Augenblicks.
After graduating, Alexander Moitzi played the title role in »Robin Hood« at Theater Akzent and on its tour of Austria, Lysander (»Ein Sommernachtstraum«) in the Bettfedernfabrik Oberwaltersdorf and the Stadthalle in Vienna, Andreas (»Jesus Christ Superstar«), the Little Gypsy (»Gräfin Mariza«), Horst (»Cinderella«) and »Amore« (»L’Incoronazione di Poppea«) at the Klagenfurt City Theatre and in »Der Mann von La Mancha« at the Graz Opera House.
Most recently, he has appeared in a number of Austrian and international film and TV productions, including the NBC series »Smash« and the feature film »The Wolf of Wall Street«.
At the Gärtnerplatztheater he appeared in »Anything Goes«, »Der Mann von La Mancha«, »Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng«, »Jesus Christ Superstar and »Drei Männer im Schnee«.
