Alexander Krasnov
Alexander Krasnov studied at the »Mussorgsky« Ural State Conservatoire in Yekaterinburg. In 2014, he won the »Bravo Award« for his interpretation of Iago in Verdi’s »Otello«. This was followed by countless engagements at the most important Russian opera houses, including the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre and opera houses of Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg. In addition, engagements have also taken him to such venues as the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn, the Slovakian National Theatre in Bratislava, the Palm Beach Opera, the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile and to Opera Australia in Sydney. His repertoire includes roles such as Bertrand (»Jolanta«), Warlaam (»Boris Godunow«), Igor and Galitsky (»Fürst Igor«), Grajznoj (»Die Zarenbraut«), Salieri (»Mozart und Salieri«) and Farfarello (»Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen«), but also Méphistophélès (»Faust«), Escamillo (»Carmen«), Heerrufer (»Lohengrin«), Scarpia (»Tosca«), Jochanaan (»Salome«) and the title roles in »Don Pasquale«, »Rigoletto« and »Der fliegende Holländer«. He appeared at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Count Tomski (»Pique Dame«), Iago and Scarpia and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as the Dutchman and Scarpia.
