Julia Duscher

Munich-born soprano Julia Duscher initially studied singing at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna under Peter Edelmann. She is currently studying with Christiane Iven at Munich University of Music and Drama and has attended master-class courses with Cheryl Studer and Claudia Visca. While she was still a student she appeared as Despina (»Così fan tutte«), the Sandman and the Dew Fairy (»Hänsel und Gretel«) and Papagena (»Die Zauberflöte«) in Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace Theatre and as Belinda (»Dido and Aeneas«) in Burg Perchtoldsdorf.

In addition, Julia Duscher works regularly as a concert performer and recitalist. She has appeared with the Munich Symphony Orchestra in oratorios and masses by Bach, Mozart and Mendelssohn Bartholdy in venues including the Prinzregententheater in Munich. Recitals have taken her to the Mozarthaus Vienna, the Haus Hofmannsthal in Vienna and the »Melos Logos« Festival in Weimar.
